Sunday April 30 Llamados a servir

6:05 AM in the breakfast area.   We are not very good at sleeping in.  We were the only ones there and the staff were glad to have something to do since they open at 6AM and most people sleep in on Sunday morning - not us.

Susan and the food area.  We made a sample plate of all the curious foods ... we at least tried to eat ( or in some cases, just take a sniff ) of the local delicacies...

A picture out the window as we pulled into the church parking lot.  The ward we attended was only about 20 minutes away from the hotel, so it was not too long.

Susan and LeeAnn heading into the church.  The church grounds were cut from the side of a big hill and it was a beautiful building.   But the members inside the building were what made it holy.

Claudia Rivas, Susan and Cynthia modeling glasses in our little 'lentes para leer' room after church meetings had ended.

We started with about 120 pairs of glasses and by the end of the hour we only had about 30 pairs left.  The ward had quite a few young children and we were worried that maybe there would not be many elderly or aging members that would need the glasses.  We should not have worried.

We were pleased ( as were they )  when we were able to find some good glasses for this elderly couple.

This sister wanted us to take her picture with her new glasses.  She must have exclaimed mucho gracias at least six times and hugged Susan probably twelve. Susan was hugged by every sister in the building that she met and then we attended a fireside with Elder Duncan where the hug total was tripled.

We had a brief stop at the Tegucigalpa Temple to walk the temple grounds and take some pictures.

Here we are looking healthy and happy.  Even after eating pizza on a bumping bus and cramped seats.  The temple was a great blessing to get out and feel peace and kindness.  The evening ended with a meeting and dinner with the group where we enjoyed each others company and were taught to simplify our lives and focus on things that matter most.   Like serving others.   "A person who does not serve others is broken" is one of the Honduran peoples favorite phrase and we like it too.
